The Role of Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage at Lavender Therapy

In the past, members of my family and close friends have experienced Cancer. Watching them going through personal challenges and chemotherapy, I felt powerless not to be able to help them.

When the opportunity to become an Oncology Massage Therapist arose, I knew it was the chance I needed to gain the tools to help them through these difficult times.

Being diagnosed with cancer can be very traumatic and, in my clinic, I can offer you a “resting place”. Oncology Massage focuses primarily on Wellbeing and Relaxation.

My work as an oncology Massage Therapist focuses on empathy, respect and understanding. During the massage, I can be a listening ear or just let you relax.

Wherever you are in your Cancer treatment I can give you the time and space you need to enable you to escape your everyday challenges.

Is it for me?

My Oncology massage is aimed at adults who are going through difficult times and need some “me” time or relaxation.

During the session, I can do as little as massaging your feet and/or your lower legs, if that is appropriate for you.

My clinic can give you the escapism you need in a non-judgemental atmosphere.

During our first meeting, I will do a thorough assessment. It is important that you give me all the necessary information needed before a treatment. All the information given is confidential and non-judgemental.

Please note: Oncology massage is not a substitute for the treatments prescribed by your consultant.

I would also recommend that you speak to the clinician/nurse responsible for your care and treatment should you decide to have an oncology massage to manage the symptoms of cancer.
